     The state of Florida requires any individual who wishes to do security work for an agency to be licensed.  Before you can be licensed you must be state certified.  Which means, you'll need to be a minimum of 18 years of age, citizen or legal alien, no felony convictions and have no present or history of a drug addiction or abuse, alcoholism or abuse, or mental illness. 

    At that juncture, you'd qualify to attend the state required 24-Hour Class-"D" Unarmed Security Officer Training Course, 16-Hour Class "D" Continuous Education Course.

When you come to class you'll need to bring the following:

     1)     Driver's License or State I.D. card

     2)     Social Security Card 

     3)     If you're not a citizen, your resident card

     4)     Two (2) black ink pens and paper

     5)     A list of everyplace you have lived and worked for the last five (5) years with zip codes
